Mud '97

"Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing birds is come,
and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land."
 - Song Of Solomon, 2:10

I haven't suddenly gone mystical on you, the quote is from the Glastonbury Festival advert in The Guardian on March 20th. I think there's some concerted positive thinking going on regarding the weather.

The big news in today's Guardian turned out to be that the Glastonbury organisers have released the full band line-up, in part due to speculation on the Internet. Until I get things updated, you can read the (almost) complete details on the Guardian's Glastonbury site. The dance tent details have still to be released, and there seems to be an entirely new venue called, logically, the New Tent.

The revamp of the bands pages is almost finished - I've added an alphabetical list of all performers and a stage-by-stage guide.

Things you need to know. Tickets went on sale on 30th March on 0870 607 7380 and are still available as of today (24th April); you should be able to get through first time. There are about 80,000 tickets on sale this year; last year's lower number sold out in about three weeks, so if you haven't got one yet do it soon. The line up for this year is starting to look very promising, including Portishead and Reprazent on the Jazz/World Stage. But who goes for the bands anyway?
